Consumers upgrade to drink at home
Wine drinkers in the UK are prepared to splash out more than ever on a bottle of wine to drink at home. The last year has seen a 30 per cent increase in the number of regular wine drinkers paying more than £7 per bottle of wine for domestic consumption. The average price of a bottle of wine in the off-trade is £4.32, while the increase in numbers of outlets where people can buy wine online is also increasing awareness of products at all levels of the price scale.
